Fall Commuter Maintenance Checklist

Fall Commuter Maintenance Checklist

Fall riding means darker evenings, wet leaves, and cold mornings — here's my seasonal checklist:

1. Test your lights — front and rear. Dark commutes are the new normal.
2. Check brakes — pad wear and cable stretch; wet leaves add stopping distance.
3. Tires — check tread and top up pressure; cold air drops PSI overnight.
4. Clean and lube the chain — fall grit grinds a dry drivetrain fast.
5. Fenders and rain gear — keep road spray off you and your electronics.
6. Charge the battery indoors — bring it inside when nights drop near freezing.
