Instructional Guide #11: Throttle & Brake Cut-Off Wiring — What Each Wire Does

1️⃣ Your hall throttle has exactly 3 wires: 5V power, signal, and ground. If one is loose, the whole bike stops responding.

2️⃣ Signal wire: tells the controller how far you twisted. A steady, smooth voltage ramp = healthy throttle.

3️⃣ Ground is shared — a bad ground here causes surging or full-speed runaways. Always check it first.

4️⃣ LOW brake = a simple switch to ground. Cheap, reliable, works on most controllers.

5️⃣ HIGH brake = a 12V-triggered input, common on e-moto builds. Feed it full battery voltage and you'll cook the controller — confirm with your controller's label first.

6️⃣ Always disconnect the battery before touching wiring. Five minutes of care saves a controller.

Wiring labels are FUNCTIONS, not colours — colours vary by brand. Got a wiring mystery? Bring it by the shop and we'll sort it out. 🔋⚡
