Repair Tip: Chain Tension

🔧 Repair Tip: Chain Tension 🔧

On single-speed and hub-motor e-bikes, your chain should have about half an inch of play when you push it up and down at the midpoint — snug enough that it doesn't sag, loose enough to spin freely.

Too tight and you'll wear out bearings fast while the motor works overtime. Too loose and the chain can skip or drop off mid-ride, usually at the worst moment.

Adjust it at the rear axle, check it once a month, and keep it lightly lubed. A happy chain is a quiet, efficient ride. ⚡
